TAP Program Has Begun!
The Healthy Community Living Technical Assistance Program (HCL-TAP) has started! We are grateful to the 20+ organizations who have decided to be part of the peer mentorship program.
We will be meeting weekly to discuss workshop start-up, recruitment, outreach, Zoom use, and the Healthy Community Living curriculums. We will also be discussing tips for hosting successful HCL workshops and specific facilitation tips for each weekly session topic.

Christopher & Dana Reeve Grant Deadline Approaching!
Proposals Due: March 16, 2021
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Quality of Life grants program offers a tiered grants strategy awarding Direct Effect (Tier 1) grants up to $25,000 to support the same wide array of programs and activities that have traditionally been funded by the Reeve Foundation. In addition, they have created High Impact Priority grants (Tiers 2, 3 & 4) with higher maximum award amounts that focus on targeted high priority issues for people living with paralysis and their families. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation is also offering a special grant focus.
Though they are looking to the field for innovative ways to address the program’s aim and goals, funds may support programs and projects to: - Connect isolated individuals and remotely foster engagement and connection through
- Virtual support groups
- Online activities to help support self-care and stress management
- Virtual and online adaptive physical activity and health promotion programs
- Art sessions
- Gaming
- Adapt services or create new services to continue to support and engage family caregivers
- Facilitate connection through the use of technology, including
- Increasing access to internet, broadband service, and tablets (via loan closets)
- Provide programs with online opportunities for volunteering (Volunteering has been shown to have many positive health benefits)
- Create strategies to strengthen and/or build social networks
- Provide access to tools and resources to help people remain connected and engaged

Working Well Added to HCL!
Working Well with a Disability (both consumer workshop and facilitator training) has been added to the Healthy Community Living Program! Because it has been added to HCL, we will no longer be supporting the printing and mailing of manuals and instead encourage organizations that wish to offer Working Well to purchase a Healthy Community Living license, which will also give your organization access to Living Well in the Community, Community Living Skills, and the Facilitating Groups training! Technical assistance will only be provided for the current version of Working Well, as we are no longer supporting the manuals. Learn more and subscribe to Healthy Community Living on our website.

HCL Success Stories
We're interested in hearing success stories from your organization!
Have you had a good experience with consumers after shifting to facilitating HCL remotely? Did you have to learn new tricks to make your workshop successful? Is there something else you would like to share with other organizations about using HCL? If you have a few minutes to chat with us--let us know! We'd love to share your story - just email healthycommunityliving@mso.umt.edu and we will set up a time to talk!
